WORKS IN PROGRESS
The development of my next Solo Performance Piece (Working Title: r_Evolution) continues in collaboration with Joan Kane of Ego Actus (My Way). The next phase will be a staged reading of the material we like so far, with an invited audience that will be asked to give constructive feedback.
r_Evolution is multi-disciplinary piece examining the myriad ways in which slavery continues to impact black lives and culture in the United States.

RECENT PAST PERFORMANCES
WHO: a Tragicomedy in Two Acts
written by Joe Rivera
As some of you may know, the cast from Camus’ Caligula enjoyed working together so much that we started a reading series to look (and hear) plays that we might want to produce.
It was a blast to get together every Thursday night and read from some of classics (Othello, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolfe?)
as well as WHO: a piece that was written by our own Joe Rivera.
We all felt that it was such a powerful piece that it was a unanimous decision to go ahead and give it a staged reading. By staged, I mean that while we were reading from the script, we were also utilizing a lot of the blocking that we developed for the piece.
The performance at Westbeth was well received. The next question is - will we mount a full production? Stay tuned.
Camus’ CALIGULA
September 6th - October 14th
THURSDAY–SATURDAY NIGHTS
& SUNDAY MATINEES
The piece, a gorgeous, provocative classic, opens our fall season. It is a tour de force of perverse humor with splashes of vulgarity, vaudevillian tendencies and, the central figure himself: Caligula; a wild, unfettered leader of Shakespearean dimension. Sound like someone we know? In a new translation by company member Chris Brandt.
