One of the most important aspects of living on a boat for me is living as self sufficiently as possible.

Growing my own food and harvesting what I can from the sea seem imperative. One of the first articles I read about living on a boat was "Sail the Farm" which gave tonnes of info on living from the bounty of the sea.
